Audi South Africa has unveiled the latest versions of the Audi S3 Sportback and S3 Sedan, models that bring sharper performance, updated technology and a more dynamic design.
These cars are not just a minor refresh but a meaningful upgrade that underscores Audi’s commitment to the premium compact performance segment. Both versions are fitted with the 2.0 TFSI engine that now delivers 245kW and 420Nm of torque, an increase of 32kW and 20Nm over the outgoing models. This ensures faster acceleration, with the sprint from zero to 100km/h completed in just 4.7 seconds. The seven speed S tronic transmission has also been fine tuned for more responsive take off and swifter gear changes.
Driving dynamics have been enhanced with the inclusion of a torque splitter which provides fully variable torque distribution between the rear wheels, offering greater agility and stability. A new dynamic plus mode has been added to the drive select system, which directs torque to the outer rear wheel to create a controlled oversteer effect, making for a more engaging drive. The S sport suspension, fitted as standard, lowers the body by 15mm compared to the Audi A3, contributing to improved control and handling.

The exterior design has been sharpened with a wider frameless Singleframe grille, accented by L shaped elements that highlight its bold stance. A fresh palette of colours has been introduced including District Green, Ascari Blue and Progressive Red, with an Audi exclusive programme available for those wanting a more bespoke look. For the first time, a polar matt Daytona Grey finish is offered in the S3 range.
Inside, the cabin continues the theme of progressive sportiness. New ambient lighting and a redesigned gear shifter are paired with precision details such as laser cut illuminated fabric panels in the doors. Stainless steel pedals, a black headlining and a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel contribute to the focused driving environment. Sport seats with integrated headrests offer strong lateral support. Technology is also central to the cabin with a 10.1-inch touch display, Audi virtual cockpit and inductive smartphone charger included as standard. Optional features such as head up display, MMI navigation plus and access to the in-car app store further expand its digital capabilities.
The updated S3 Sportback is priced at R1 091 100 while the S3 Sedan will retail at R1 106 100, positioning both as compelling choices for enthusiasts who value performance wrapped in everyday usability.
