Hyundai Automotive South Africa has reached a landmark achievement, celebrating 800,000 vehicles sold since entering the market 25 years ago.
From its early days as a little‑known challenger brand, Hyundai has grown into the country’s fourth‑largest motoring name, recognised for quality, reliability and strong aftersales support.
Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa, said: “Reaching 800,000 vehicles sold reflects how much South Africans love the Hyundai brand. Today’s milestone confirms that our vision resonates strongly with customers.”
The company has pioneered initiatives such as the first 7‑year/200,000km warranty in South Africa and now operates 97 dealerships nationwide, 44 of which are directly owned. Hyundai also contributes to the wider economy, employing 2,500 people and supporting 12,500 livelihoods, while investing R75 million in bursaries, building 23 community libraries and offering workplace experience to 183 youth learners annually.

Ockert Janse van Rensburg, CEO of Motus Holdings Limited, congratulated the team, noting that the achievement reflects Hyundai’s operational excellence and strong positioning in a competitive market.
With this milestone, Hyundai looks ahead to its next phase of growth, committed to delivering high‑quality vehicles and customer experiences that continue to earn the loyalty of South African motorists.
