Toyota has expanded its local Corolla Cross line-up with the GR-S, a variant that injects sport-inspired styling and sharper driving dynamics.
Building on the established strengths of the Corolla Cross, it introduces distinctive exterior cues, GR-branded interior finishes, and suspension tuning that set it apart from the rest of the range.
The GR-S stands out with a black mesh grille, LED headlamps with sequential indicators, sculpted skid plates, and 18-inch alloy wheels, complemented by bi-tone paint options such as Glacier White, Chromium Silver, and Arizona Red with a black roof.
Inside, black leather with red stitching, GR logos, red seatbelts, and aluminium sports pedals create a performance-focused atmosphere, supported by advanced tech including a 10.1-inch audio display, 12.3-inch digital cluster, panoramic view monitor, and a power back door with kick sensor.
Performance comes from the familiar 1.8-litre petrol engine producing 103kW and 172Nm, or a hybrid system delivering 90kW, both paired with a CVT gearbox. Paddle shifters on the petrol version and revised suspension enhance driver engagement while maintaining efficiency.
Pricing places the GR-S at R527 000 and the GR-S HEV at R569 700, positioning it as a sporty yet practical addition to the Corolla Cross family.
